Job Title: Floor Manager

Location: Marcin Bowl & Gutterballs - 609 Helena St, Point Edward, ON
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $21-$25 per hour (based on experience)
Bonuses: Performance-based quarterly bonuses available

About Us:

Marcin Bowl and Gutterballs are Sarnia-Lambton's go-to destination for bowling, dining, and entertainment. With a 300+ seat venue, high-volume traffic, leagues, and private events, we take pride in delivering unforgettable guest experiences in a fast-paced, family-friendly environment. We are now hiring a Floor Manager to help lead our front-of-house team and uphold service and operational excellence.

Position Overview:

As Floor Manager, you will be responsible for executing daily front-of-house operations across both Marcin Bowl and Gutterballs. This leadership role requires strong shift management, staff coordination, guest service, and operational problem-solving skills. You'll set the tone on shift, ensure smooth transitions, and drive both service standards and sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Oversight

Lead all front-of-house operations during scheduled shifts
Supervise and support bartenders, servers, counter staff, and lane attendants
Delegate tasks and make informed decisions in real time
Act as the senior contact on shift and liaise with ownership when required

Customer Service

Personally resolve guest complaints and escalate concerns when needed
Conduct walkthroughs during peak periods and events to ensure guest satisfaction
Engage confidently with customers and make announcements via microphone

Staff Supervision & Scheduling

Manage staff punctuality, shift assignments, and break coverage
Provide in-the-moment coaching, redirect performance issues, and support new hires
Assume shift coverage if no replacements are available

Operational Efficiency

Ensure accurate cash handling, till reconciliation, and safe drops
Coordinate bowling lane availability with front desk and back shop
Oversee execution of all opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures
Monitor FOH supply levels and communicate reorders

Safety & Cleanliness

Conduct walkthroughs every 3 hours and address hazards or spills immediately
Enforce Smart Serve policies and ID checks
Secure the venue during opening and closing shifts

Sales & Promotions

Support weekly sales targets for food, drinks, bowling, and event bookings
Ensure marketing materials are properly displayed and current promotions are upsold
Track and report guest engagement with promotional activities

Team Communication

Host daily pre-shift huddles and post-shift debriefs
Maintain shift logs, incident reports, and communication between departments
Collaborate with the kitchen, bar, and maintenance teams for seamless service

Event & League Execution

Oversee league nights, birthday parties, and special events with 90%+ satisfaction
Ensure event areas are cleaned and flipped within 15 minutes of use
Coordinate closely with league organizers and guest hosts

Performance Expectations:

You will be held accountable for achieving key metrics, including:

95%+ customer satisfaction rate
Timely completion of shift checklists and cash reconciliation
Staff punctuality rate of 98% or higher
Documented walkthroughs every 3 hours
Accurate communication logs and issue resolution
Weekly sales goal attainment and promotion tracking
Event execution without incident 90% of the time
Ongoing participation in leadership training and peer review cycles

Qualifications:

1+ year in a leadership or supervisory role (hospitality or recreation preferred)
Smart Serve certified (or willing to obtain before start)
First Aid & CPR certified (or willing to complete within 30 days)
Strong multitasking, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Comfortable speaking in front of groups or making announcements
Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Background check may be required upon hire.
