Music Therapist - Consultant Position

Location: 166 Main St West, Grimsby, ON
Position Type: Consultant
Schedule: In-person
Compensation: TBD (based on experience and qualifications)

Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Music Therapist to join our team as a consultant, specializing in infant and pediatric therapeutic programming. This role involves designing, facilitating, and collaborating on music therapy groups for our youngest clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Group Facilitation: Lead engaging and developmentally appropriate music therapy sessions for infants and children
Program Development: Collaborate with our clinical team to design evidence-based music therapy interventions
Family Engagement: Work with parents and caregivers to support therapeutic goals and provide guidance for home practice
Assessment & Documentation: Conduct initial assessments and maintain detailed session notes and progress reports
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
Program Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of music therapy interventions

Required Qualifications

Registration with Music Therapy Association of Ontario (MTAO)
Experience working with infants and pediatric populations
Strong background in child development and family-centered care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as a consultant while maintaining collaborative relationships

Preferred Qualifications

Additional training in infant mental health or early childhood development
Experience with group facilitation and parent education
