Job Summary:
The Fencing Instructor - Foil at Mountain Fencing Club is responsible for providing expert instruction to students of all ages and skill levels in the art of foil fencing. As an experienced foil fencing instructor, you will be responsible for designing and implementing training programs, overseeing the progress of students, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs in foil fencing for students of all skill levels.
- Conduct individual and group lessons to enhance the fencing skills of students.
- Observe and assess the progress of students, and provide feedback and guidance to help them improve their technique.
- Ensure that all equipment used in fencing is safe and properly maintained.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all students during fencing lessons.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance, and communicate regularly with head coach, parents, or guardians.
- Encourage and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Assist, participate, and coordinate special events, such as competitions, recreational activities, seminars, camps, etc.
- Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest fencing techniques and teaching methods.
Qualifications:
- Must have extensive knowledge and experience in foil fencing.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Should have experience in designing and delivering comprehensive fencing training programs.
- Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students of all ages and skill levels.
- Should have strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Education and Experience:
- Secondary or above diploma in Physical Education or a related field preferred.
- Fencing coaching certification from an accredited organization.
- At least 2-3 years of experience coaching foil fencing.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to demonstrate fencing techniques and movements to students.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move fencing equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- May be required to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
- May be required to work in noisy and crowded environments, such as during competitions or events.
