Position Summary

NOIC ACADEMY is seeking a dedicated and passionate Biology/ Social Science Teacher to join our high school faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in Biology/ Social Science to students in Grades 9-12, preparing students for academic success and scientific literacy, while fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and deliver effective Biology/ Social Science lessons in alignment with the Ontario curriculum standards
• Incorporate laboratory activities, experiments, and inquiry-based learning to support hands-on understanding.
• Assess, evaluate, and report on student progress using a variety of assessment tools.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
• Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance student learning and collaboration
• Participate in school activities, staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in biology, Science Education, Social Science or a related field.
• Teacher Certification in Ontario (OCT) is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching biology/ Social Science at the high school level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of biology curriculum and pedagogy.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to student success and lifelong learning.
