This company is seeking an experienced Operations Laboratory Manager to lead the setup and ongoing operations of their brand-new facility in Vancouver. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a cutting-edge lab, contribute to environmental excellence, and build and lead a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day lab operations across multiple analytical disciplines - Water, Soil, and Tissue.
• Lead and support lab set-up, including instrument procurement and installation.
• Manage and scale a multidisciplinary team - lab staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols, SOPs, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with technical leads and senior management to deliver on performance and turnaround goals.

Technical Focus:

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

• ICP-MS
• GC-MS (Volatiles)
• Microbiology
• Instrumentation including (GC-TOFF-MS) - preferred but not essential

Experience with method development, troubleshooting, and operational excellence in a high-throughput lab environment is highly valued.

About You:

• Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Microbiology, or related discipline.
• Proven leadership experience in a commercial or environmental laboratory setting.
• Strong background in analytical instrumentation and lab operations.
• Excellent organizational and team-building skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.
