We're on the lookout for a super dynamic and energetic Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Port Perry. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the President/CEO, where you'll be at the heart of driving operational excellence and strategic execution.
As the key point of contact for major operational decisions, you'll work closely with department heads to identify challenges, streamline workflows, and implement efficient systems and processes. Plant Operations & Leadership
- Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, assembly, inventory, and logistics.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure production goals are met in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma).
- Align production plans with sales forecasts, R&D priorities, and customer demands.
Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Develop, manage, and track the annual operations budget, including CAPEX and OPEX forecasts.
- Monitor production and operational expenses; implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or efficiency.
- Analyze financial data and KPIs to support strategic planning and informed decision-making.
- Identify areas of financial risk and opportunity; proactively course-correct to achieve business goals.
- Prepare regular financial and performance reports for the executive team.
Facilities & Equipment
- Maintain and upgrade plant equipment and infrastructure to support current and future production needs.
- Manage all aspects of facility operations including maintenance, safety protocols, and vendor contracts.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and health & safety standards.
People Management
- Lead, develop, and mentor operations, production, and warehouse teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and collaboration.
- Partner with HR on workforce planning, training, and employee engagement.
Process & Systems
- Evaluate and improve existing processes; design and implement new SOPs where needed.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Product Development teams to optimize operations and introduce new products into production.
- Leverage ERP and reporting tools to enhance operational visibility and data-driven decision-making.
Strategic Planning & Reporting
- Work closely with CEO and executive leadership to define long-term operations strategy.
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks proactively.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree or Masters in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Management or Business Administration.
- 8+ years of experience in operations or plant management, ideally in audio, electronics, or manufacturing environments.
- Proven leadership in a manufacturing setting, with strong knowledge of production, inventory management, and facilities.
- Demonstrated success in implementing Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and operational reporting.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
