Our client, 7Gen, is on a mission to accelerate the transition to zero-emission transportation, not just for today but for the generations to come. Inspired by the 7th Generation Principle, they help companies make meaningful, lasting shifts toward cleaner mobility by removing the complexity from fleet electrification.
They work with leading brands, from logistics giants like DHL and FedEx to growing last-mile operators, to design, deliver, and support high-performance electric fleet solutions across North America that actually work in the field.
Rather than simply leasing electric vehicles, their EV-as-a-Service model bundles everything fleets need into one scalable, tailored offering: vehicles, charging infrastructure, financing, and intuitive software. It is built to be flexible, capital-efficient, and easy to operate.
7Gen is built by a team that understands both the operational demands and the long-term stakes. They are here to build real-world momentum toward a cleaner transportation future, one vehicle, one route, and one partnership at a time.
As a growing company, 7Gen offers a unique opportunity to help shape the culture and systems from the ground up without legacy overhead. They offer a mission-driven, fast-moving environment where high-performing talent can directly shape the future of zero-emission mobility.
The Role
If you think spreadsheets and onboarding flows can be joyful, you are in the right place. 7Gen is looking for someone who brings clarity without rigidity, energy with intention, and structure that fuels momentum. You will help shape and scale the people systems that keep this organization growing, building smarter workflows, simplifying the messy stuff, and making every team member's day just a little smoother.
The People Operations Manager coordinates the moving pieces of recruitment and onboarding, leverages automation and tools to improve internal efficiency, builds and maintains policies and handbooks, and ensures compliance across jurisdictions where applicable.
This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role for someone who finds purpose in building thoughtful systems that support people to do their best work. You will have space to create, improve, and shape how things run, not just to keep up with growth but to make it feel good along the way.
What Success Looks Like
- Every new hire is onboarded through a consistent, compliant, and well-documented process.
- Employee policies are clear, current, and accessible in both English and French.
- Hiring managers feel confident and equipped with the tools they need to lead their teams.
- HR documentation, from contracts to offer letters, is accurate, well-structured, and legally sound.
- Automation and AI tools are thoughtfully applied to accelerate hiring, onboarding, and team operations.
- Internal platforms such as Notion, HRIS, and candidate trackers are aligned and up to date.
- The people function is seen as adaptable, proactive, and continuously evolving. It is grounded in systems but never stagnant.
Who They're Looking For
- You have done this before, in People Ops, HR coordination, or generalist roles in small to mid-sized companies.
- You know how to navigate employment law across Canada and the U.S. Familiarity with Quebec is a bonus but not a requirement.
- You have built onboarding plans, maintained policies, and supported hiring logistics.
- You are a documentation powerhouse who is clear, thoughtful, and organized.
- You are independent, execution-focused, and thrive when trusted to figure things out.
- You are energized by what is possible, eager to learn, and always looking for ways to make things better.
- You are not here for the spotlight. You are here to make things run better, cleaner, and faster.
Where This Role Can Lead
The People Operations Manager will play a critical role in building the internal systems that support 7Gen's growth. As the team scales, this role could evolve into a senior People or Operations position with oversight of HR strategy, compliance, or cross-functional systems.
There may also be future opportunities to lead people programs, support international expansion, or step into a broader operational leadership role. For someone who thrives on momentum and continuous growth, there is real room to stretch and shape what comes next.
