Our challenge

We are looking a skilled and proactive Calypso Production Support Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of our Calypso platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Calypso APIs, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), and production support in a fast-paced financial environment.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, Ontario, United States is $140k - $150k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Production Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for all Calypso production issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
  • Custom Development: Design and implement custom solutions using Calypso APIs to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Environment Management: Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of non-production environments to support development and testing activities.
  • Release & Deployment: Manage and coordinate production deployments, ensuring smooth and error-free releases.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Leverage AWS services to support and optimize infrastructure for scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Batch Operations: Monitor and support batch processing jobs, including after-hours support as needed to ensure operational continuity.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Calypso production support
  • Proficiency in Calypso APIs for custom development and issue resolution
  • Knowledge of trade lifecycle, risk, and settlement modules in Calypso
  • Experience as L1/L2/L3 support for financial systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage incident resolution under pressure
  • Excellent understanding of SLAs, root cause analysis, and escalation procedures
  • Hands-on experience with Java and Calypso scripting
  • Ability to design and build custom workflows and interfaces
  • Experience in managing non-production environments (UAT, QA, DEV)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, release coordination, and rollback strategies
  • Hands-on knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring, scaling, and reliability optimization
  • Experience with Autosys, Control-M, or similar schedulers
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and support batch processes, including after-hours
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Dev, Infra, QA, Business)
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused mindset
