Qualifications:
A community college diploma or a university degree in a related field and/or Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) course completion
Ability to perform physical duties of the role; ability to engage learners with a variety of developmental ranges.
Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.
Working knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analytic terminology and concepts.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
Roles/Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on teaching position. People in this role are primarily working 1:1 with individuals teaching a variety of skills from communication to independence/self-care skills.
Knowledge of how to support clients with disabilities, both developmental and physical.
Support family and caregiver involvement.
Implement trauma-assumed care according to the goals on the Behaviour Support Plan
Implement ABA programs as outlined by the BCBA/Behaviour Team
Accurately and fluently record session data as requested by the Clinical Supervisor
Graph data regularly
Monitor clients' progress and effectiveness of individualized programs.
Responsible for maintaining paperwork and communicating regularly with team and Floor Supervisors.
Attend weekly meetings with the Junior Behaviour Associate and Clinical Supervisor to provide updates and input on specific clients.
Prepare materials as needed for programming.
Required supervision by BCBA/Behaviour Therapist will be provided and the staff will report directly to the on-site Program Manager.
Must be open to receiving regular supervision and constructive feedback.
Help train and promote skills within direct care teams.
Ability to work evening and weekend hours with multiple clients with diverse needs.
Ability to work with individuals who require substantial behaviour intervention and support.
On-going housekeeping related duties which include, light cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and organization.
Group Home Worker duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Current First Aid and CPR.
Must be able to obtain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector, medical clearance and successfully pass Safe Management training.
Valid G Class Driver's License.
