OVERVIEW:
Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production operations with a strong focus on safety, process optimization, line performance, and yield improvement. This role works closely with maintenance and planning teams to ensure efficient plant operations and will also manage the inventory and supply of packaging materials. The Production Manager will lead and evaluate staff performance in three key departments: Live Receive, Evisceration, and Packaging. This role requires the ability to proactively plan for and adapt to changing customer demands while developing strategic initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity across the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Production Manager, your responsibilities and duties will be, including but not limited to:
Daily Responsibilities:
- Act as a model of integrity, high productivity, and consistently safe working habits for the manufacturing team, adhering to the company's core values.
- Accomplishes results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Provides direction for the improvement of process flow, optimizing yield, and developing plans for increases to throughput
- Implementing cost reduction projects
- Executes production plan by organizing and assigning personnel; establishing priorities, resolving problems, and reporting on daily shift production summaries.
- Focus on Safety and Quality, while customer expectations are met.
- Provides yield analysis on areas throughout the process, as well as the development of improvement plans
- The responsibility of maintaining inventory and ordering packaging materials/supplies as required for the manufacturing process
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all safety/quality requirements, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
To be seriously considered for this role, please have the following in regard to:
Education:
- Further Education in a related field in a technical, engineering, or relevant education.
Experience:
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of MRP Systems
- Efficient knowledge of Safety requirements/regulations as well as preferred knowledge of GMP/food safety requirements
- Understanding of manufacturing best practices, machinery, equipment, and processes
- Experiencing calculating Yields and development of Process improvement plans and implementations of corrective actions.
