Overview:

We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our growing Data team. This role will report to the Director of Data and collaborate closely with a Senior Analytics Engineer, a Staff Data Scientist, a Junior BI Analyst and a Data Agency.

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of business stakeholders from various departments including Ecom, Retail, Planning, CRM, Wholesale, Operations, Finance, Merchandising, and Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and Maintain Data Models
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models using dbt, following industry best practices and Kimball methodology.
  • Transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets that power business intelligence dashboards and reports.
  • Implement and maintain data testing frameworks to ensure data quality and reliability.
  • Document data models, transformations, and business logic to ensure knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Optimize data models for performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Business Stakeholders
  • Partner with business teams to understand their data needs and translate requirements into technical specifications.
  • Design and implement data models that support various business use cases and KPIs.
  • Provide guidance on data modeling best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the team's technical standards.
  • Support Data Engineering and BI Initiatives
  • Assist with data pipeline maintenance and troubleshooting using tools like Fivetran and GCP.
  • Support the development and maintenance of business intelligence dashboards using Sigma Computing.
  • Help maintain data observability using Metaplane to ensure data quality and reliability.
  • Contribute to data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and dbt (Python experience is a plus).
  • Experience with data modeling and dimensional modeling concepts.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD practices.
  • Understanding of data warehouse concepts and experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP).
  • Experience with BI tools (Sigma Computing experience is a plus) and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic understanding of retail/e-commerce metrics and KPIs.
  • Passion for building scalable and maintainable data solutions.
  • Enjoy collaborating with business stakeholders and understanding their needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and take pride in writing clean, well-documented code.
  • Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and best practices.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail or e-commerce environment.
