We are now entering a focused growth phase and seeking a freelance Business Development Manager with strong experience in B2B outreach, lead generation, and sales coordination-preferably within the marketing, advertising, or communications sectors.

Role Overview

In this role, you will:

  • Generate leads and secure discovery meetings with qualified prospects
  • Help build a consistent sales pipeline across Maple's priority sectors (CPG, retail, government, financial services, telecom)
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on pitch opportunities, RFPs, and client proposals

You will be compensated hourly and expected to deliver measurable results, with performance-based renewal after 6 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound outreach (email, LinkedIn, referrals) to secure 5-10 meetings/month
  • Research and qualify leads across Maple's core verticals
  • Maintain and update CRM with outreach and pipeline activity
  • Support proposal development and pitch logistics with senior team
  • Track and report key performance metrics weekly

Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years of B2B sales or new business development experience (preferably agency-side)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with cold outreach and proactive follow-up
  • Organized, self-directed, and metrics-driven
  • Familiar with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and proposal coordination
  • Knowledge of the marketing, advertising, or creative agency landscape is a strong asset
