We are looking for a Data Developer for a long term position, starting with a 6-month contract, in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

This is an on-site position with a requirement to work in-person at the office in downtown Calgary. 40 hours per week.

Role Description

We are seeking a Data Developer with a solid technical foundation and a growth mindset to support the development of innovative data solutions, cloud-based data integrations, and the evolution of our cloud data platform. You'll be part of a forward-thinking team that values collaboration, initiative, and continuous learning. The ideal candidate will be versatile, adaptable, and comfortable working with evolving technology stacks and environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines using ETL/ELT processes
• Design and support data models and data warehouse structures
• Build and optimize complex SQL queries for data manipulation and reporting
• Integrate systems and data via REST APIs
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions on cloud infrastructure
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient in Python programming
• Experience with data warehousing and data modeling techniques
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes
• Skilled in writing complex SQL queries
• Comfortable working with REST APIs
• Solid experience with Cloud based data platforms (e.g. Fabric, Synapse, Databricks etc.)
• Oil and Gas experience

Desired Skills and Experience

• Power BI (data modeling and reporting)
• Report Builder, Power Query, DAX, M Language
• Apache Spark
• Solid experience with Python/Scala programming
• SDLC practices using Azure DevOps
• Experience with Power Apps is nice to have
• Experience with Power Automate is nice to have
