Job Description

Carousel is seeking a Sales Engineer to bridge the gap between technical expertise and client-facing communication. This role is ideal for someone who can confidently explain complex products to non-technical audiences while supporting the sales team with deep product knowledge, solution architecture, and strategic insight.

As a Sales Engineer at Carousel, you'll play a critical role in helping potential clients understand how our modular data workflows can transform their operations. You'll partner with Account Executives, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver customized demos, respond to technical objections, and guide clients through integration questions-ensuring a smooth and confident buying journey.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Support & Solution Design

  • Partner with Sales to deliver compelling demos tailored to client use cases.
  • Translate business problems into technical solutions using Carousel's modular platform.
  • Design and propose implementation workflows that fit client requirements.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to prospective customers throughout the sales process.

Technical Consultation & Enablement

  • Explain integrations with services like IBV, KYC, Plaid, and Flinks.
  • Address technical concerns and objections during calls and RFPs.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to surface customer needs and inform roadmap priorities.
  • Assist clients in understanding implementation timelines and requirements.

Sales Process Efficiency

  • Create and maintain technical sales collateral, demo environments, and FAQ documentation.
  • Lead technical onboarding and handoff process post-sale for key accounts.
  • Continuously improve the sales process by identifying friction points and collaborating cross-functionally to resolve them.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Account Manager role.
  • Background in SaaS, fintech, or data-driven platforms strongly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineers and executives.
  • Familiarity with APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and integration frameworks.
  • Experience working with sales teams to close complex deals.
  • Detail-oriented with strong presentation, documentation, and follow-through skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial data systems, identity verification tools, or lending technology.
  • Familiarity with tools and concepts such as KYC, IBV, Open Banking, Flinks, or Plaid.
  • Understanding of Carousel's stack (e.g., NestJS, Next.js, PostgreSQL, AWS) is a bonus.
  • Previous experience helping onboard or train new clients post-sale is a plus.
