Are you innovative and looking for new challenges? Kongsberg Geospatial is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Associate Product Manager to support the UAS Product Manager in the development and strategic management of our UAS software products. Your responsibilities will include the key pillars of the product function, including collecting insights, building business cases, supporting product development, sales and marketing activities and engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive success for the UAS product.

We develop high-performance, geographical 2D/3D systems: Think "applications for defense and security", like battlespace management, mission planning, ground control software for drones, and situational awareness for air traffic management.

We integrate complex sensors (like RADAR, LiDAR), data feeds (like Weather, or Air Traffic Control data), and hardware/equipment (ADS-B, AIS) using modern interfaces like REST, RTP and HTTP.

We tie it all together with Open Standards Communication Interfaces and innovative graphical user interfaces for operators that combine maps, terrain, imagery, video feeds, equipment controls, and real time data.

We augment the visuals with features like data Correlation/Fusion, Terrain warnings, and Aircraft Collision Avoidance and Proximity alerts.

Our technology is used by customers across the globe in defense, aviation, security, maritime and transport industries.

A Canadian security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is required

Must be enrolled in an eligible Co-op Program

This is a hybrid role located out of our Ottawa, Ontario office.

If you want to be part of our team, your role will involve

  • Conducting research to analyze industry trends, key competitors and customer needs to identify lucrative market segments.
  • Capturing key product value differentiators, problems to solve and success criteria through product requirements, user-stories, personas and journey maps.
  • Developing and tracking key-performance indicators and associated analytics to measure, improve and find new opportunities for the UAS product.
  • Collaborating with the engineering teams to execute on product requirements, features and analytics.
  • Supporting sales and solutions engineering with communication and sales enablement around product positioning, key value drivers and product differentiators.
  • Supporting development of robust business cases for new products, features and enhancements.

  • Proficiency in database querying (e.g., SQL), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and basic programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely and communicate effectively across a cross-functional team including sales, engineering and solutions.
  • UX and UI experience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and through ambiguity.
  • A desire to learn, optimize, and share knowledge.

Work Environment:

We are a fun, friendly, diverse group of engineers who enjoy what we do. We are currently supporting working in a hybrid model between office and home. A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and hold yourself accountable are essential. Great communication skills are also a must. We have daily meetings via Microsoft Teams to share progress, discuss challenges, and plan. We utilize industry standard Task Management systems for our projects and teams, and we provide secure equipment to facilitate connection to our systems.
