Job Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled MDM Specialist with a strong background in banking to join our team in Toronto.
  • The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Master Data Management (MDM), production support, and a deep understanding of Unix and SQL.
  • This role requires exceptional troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills to ensure optimal application performance and client satisfaction in a fast-paced banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain MDM solutions to support banking operations.
  • Provide production support, including troubleshooting and resolving application issues.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for DB2 and SQL databases to ensure efficient data processing.
  • Utilize Unix environments for scripting, debugging, and system management.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization of applications to address bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver client-facing solutions.
  • Document processes and ensure adherence to ITIL standards for incident and change management.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to drive issue resolution and project success.

Required Skills (Maximum of 6)

  • MDM Skills: Proven experience implementing and supporting MDM solutions in a banking context.
  • Production Support Experience: Hands-on expertise in managing and resolving production issues.
  • Unix and SQL: Deep understanding and practical experience in Unix scripting and advanced SQL query development.
  • Database Expertise: Proficiency in DB2 and SQL for data management and optimization.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Strong ability to debug code and identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Banking Experience: Mandatory experience in the banking sector, understanding industry-specific data and compliance needs.

Nice-to-Have Skills (Maximum of 3)

  • HTML and Python: Familiarity with HTML for front-end integration and Python for scripting or automation.
  • ServiceNOW Experience: Knowledge of ServiceNOW for incident tracking and workflow management.
  • ITIL Certification: Certification in ITIL frameworks for IT service management.

Additional Requirements

  • Performance Tuning: Experience optimizing applications for scalability and efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication for client interactions and team collaboration.
  • Client-Facing: Comfortable working on-site in Toronto, engaging directly with clients.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, MDM) are a plus.

Years of Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MDM, production support, and banking applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Unix, SQL, and DB2 with at least 3 years of hands-on experience.
