Our client in the public sector is seeking an Infrastructure Architect on a contract basis to support various infrastructure modernization programs
Location: mainly remote, some hybrid - Toronto
Duration: 12 months + 12 months extension
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead infrastructure architecture for network, computing, storage, end-user devices (Windows, Mobile, IoT, OT), and security platforms.
- Support the creation of long-term architecture and modernization roadmaps aligned with mobile workforce enablement.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and technical architectures, including capability maps, standards, and deployment views.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors through all phases: RFI/RFP creation, technology evaluation, procurement, deployment, and transition to sustainment.
- Support proof-of-concepts and technology selection aligned with TCHC's enterprise goals.
- Guide the infrastructure team on design, documentation, and development best practices.
- Conduct current and future state assessments and contribute to business continuity, disaster recovery, and data center operations.
- Provide third-level technical support in designated areas as required.
- Ensure compliance with architectural and security governance.
- Create and maintain solution design blueprints and operational documentation.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in senior-level infrastructure architecture.
- 4+ years with cloud architecture and Windows end-user computing.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), Active Directory, virtualization (VMware), and data center migrations.
- Familiarity with Cisco networking, DNS, DHCP, F5, and infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Experience in identity and access management, network security, endpoint architecture (IoT/OT), and cloud delivery models.
- Knowledge of relevant compliance (e.g., FIPPA) and security frameworks.
- MCSE certification or similar is an asset.
- Strong background in endpoint devices, DR, storage/backup, IAM, and ITSM.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in public sector a plus.
