We are currently looking for a Permanent, Full-Time, Human Resources Generalist located in our Windsor, Ontario headquarters.

The HR Generalist will be responsible for a variety of administrative activities that support our organization including but not limited to a heavy focus in labour relations, health and safety, recruitment, training and development, employee benefit administration, and policy and procedure administration.

This position will report directly to the Operations Resource Manager.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintenance of attendance (hourly/salaried)
  • Ensuring adherence to the collective agreement
  • Conducting monthly H&S Workplace inspections
  • Conducting JHSC meetings
  • Maintenance of WSIB claims while achieving a goal of 0 lost time accidents
  • Benefits administration
  • Full Cycle recruitment for Hourly and Salary staff including conducting New Hire orientations
  • Schedule and coordinate any training required from 3rd party
  • Schedule and conduct any in house training (refreshers)
  • Monthly 5S inspections
  • Monthly HR Reports to management team
  • Arranging employee appreciation events (summer/ Christmas, Anniversaries)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed Post-Secondary education in Human Resources
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in HR
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in H&S
  • Experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment
  • Experience in WSIB claims management
  • Comfortable working on a computer
  • JHSC Certified an asset
  • First Aid Certification an asset
  • Driver License an asset

SKILLS:

  • Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well within all levels of a fast-paced organization
  • Able to manage own work flow and accomplish objectives with others without supervision
  • Excellent time management, written, verbal and listening skills
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of applicable employment legislation (ESA, OHSA)
