Work Setup

  • Flexible work hours with work-from-home opportunity (This a remote-first role with in-person attendance required once per week and for occasional on-site meetings or events)

Key Responsibilities & what you'll be doing:

  • Oversight and strategic leadership of shared services functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational efficiency, including:

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business performance and agility
  • Lead cross-functional projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Leverage data analytics to drive strategic insights and informed decision making
  • Lead operational strategy, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards
  • Manage and resolve daily operational challenges

Role Expectations:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide executive oversight of operational strategy, aligning initiatives with corporate objectives and long-term growth plans.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and execute business transformation and innovation initiatives.
  • Represent Operations in board-level discussions and strategic planning sessions.

Operational Oversight:

  • Lead and manage shared services functions, including IT, Compliance, Business Development, Marketing & Communications, and Operations.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure effective coordination between underwriting, claims, IT, and other departments to support seamless service delivery.

Project & Change Management

  • Direct enterprise-wide projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and measurable outcomes.
  • Champion continuous improvement and change management initiatives to enhance operational agility.

Data & Performance Analytics

  • Leverage data analytics to monitor operational KPIs, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
  • Deliver regular performance reports and executive dashboards to support transparency and accountability.
  • Use insights to drive process optimization and resource allocation.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including licensing, audit readiness, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor operational risks and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with legal and compliance teams.

Talent & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operations teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes in partnership with HR.

Financial Stewardship

  • Oversee operational budgeting, cost control, and resource planning.
  • Support M&A activities, including due diligence, integration planning, and post-merger optimization.
  • Monitor and manage vendor relationships and service-level agreements.

  • Strong background in project management, including enterprise system implementations, process redesign, and change management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data analytics and performance measurement to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing regulatory compliance, audits, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence across departments and build alignment around strategic priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
  • A mindset focused on helping the business run better-through innovation, simplification, and operational discipline.
