Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an IT Manager for one of Vancouver's local airlines. This role involves senior IT technical responsibilities and support, including:
Technical Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and resolving Tier 2/3 issues.
- Configuration, maintenance, and support of servers (Windows, Linux, Active Directory, File Server and Permissions, GPO).
- Configuration, maintenance, and support of IT systems (AWS, Azure, Entra ID, Strapi).
- Administration of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) systems (VMWare, Linux, Apple iPad iOS / Mac OS).
- Updates and scheduling for booking and flight management systems, collaborating with developers for system improvements.
- Providing on-call support and urgent response (7 days per week).
- Supporting contact center systems (Reservations Department).
- Website support, updates, and basic coding for three websites.
- Microsoft 365 administration tasks and support (Licensing, Entra ID, Azure, User Setup, Policy Management, Cyber Security, SharePoint, PowerBi, Teams, Email, OneDrive).
- Network and DNS management, internet connectivity, and access point setup and management.
- Supporting the financial ERP system (Hosting, Great Plains / NetSuite, Integrations, Nightly Batching).
- Surveillance camera setup and support.
- Phone system and contact center software support.
- Management and support of front and back-end payment systems (Eigen, Moneris, Shift4).
- After-hours and evening work as required.
- Management and support of all hardware, including 300+ desktops/laptops, access points, switches, routers, printers, pin pads, monitors, etc.
Management and Project Responsibilities:
- General management and guidance of the IT department.
- Hardware, software, license, and subscription purchasing and management.
- IT project management within IT and across all departments.
- Future planning, IT direction, and upgrades across Harbour Air.
- Research and implementation of emerging technologies.
- Design and setup of equipment at new offices/sites/bases.
IT Security and Cyber Security:
- Resolving vulnerabilities and responding to alerts for all staff accounts and IT assets.
- Staff training, awareness, and reporting (Cyber Security).
- Firewall management.
- MDR, user awareness training, and risk management.
- Management of access and permissions across all systems.
- Quarterly cyber security reviews, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities across the network.
- Anti-virus-related tasks.
- IT and cyber policy standards.
Administrative Tasks:
- Budgeting, expenses, and credit card reporting for the IT department.
- Licensing and subscription management.
- Documentation and asset management.
- Server/systems updates and patches.
- Network, cabling, and hardware management.
- IT onboarding and orientation.
- Attending leadership and department meetings.
- Digital signage setup and management.
- SharePoint updates and development.
- Disaster recovery planning and procedures.
- Interviews, staff reviews, and evaluations, one-on-ones.
- Frequent travel between all bases.
- Maintaining relationships with various vendors and third-party providers.
- Contract negotiations with various vendors and third-party providers.
Staff Management, Planning, and Training:
- IT staff scheduling and planning (support, project work, tasks).
- IT team management and mentoring.
- IT staff training (knowledge transfer to IT staff, procedures, and policies).
This role requires a dynamic individual capable of managing a wide range of IT functions and leading a team to ensure optimal performance and security across the organization's IT infrastructure.
Required Skills & Experience
5-7+ years of IT experience Experience in a lead, supervisor or management role Experience with a broad range of IT skills including networking, hardware, ERP applications and overall support Able to project manage and work with outside vendors as well as the business
