DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Program Manager will lead and oversee a high complexity, 3-year data migration program within our organization. This role is crucial for driving strategic initiatives and ensuring successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will be excited to apply their expertise in program management to make a significant impact on our company's growth and success.
The Senior Program Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Change Management, Technology Operations, and external vendors. Reporting directly to the Director of Program Management, this role involves regular engagement with senior leadership and key external stakeholders.
Success in this position requires exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively coordinate efforts across multiple teams and ensure alignment with strategic organizational objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in data migration (both technical and functional), alongside proven experience in program and project management, as well as stakeholder engagement. Candidates are expected to possess robust analytical thinking skills to evaluate the quality of deliverables, key performance indicators (KPIs), and overall program health.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, including large-scale software migrations with demonstrated success.
- End-to-end project management: Includes but is not limited to the development, implementation, and maintenance of an integrated project plan, scope definition, RAID log, program financials, and business cases.
- Apply strong experience in data conversions and associated practices to ensure data integrity and successful transition.
- Proactive monitoring of project progress, risks, and issues, and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to ensure project alignment with business objectives.
- Demonstrate a balance of big-picture thinking and hands-on execution to support project teams and remove blockers.
- Provide regular project updates to senior management and stakeholders, driving executive conversations and agendas with confidence.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Exhibit strong financial acumen in managing budgets and evaluating program value.
- Adapt quickly to changes in direction or approach, applying learnings to improve outcomes.
- Show sound judgment in knowing when to push teams for results and when to remain flexible.
- Be highly reliable, thoughtful, and proactive in identifying and addressing project needs.

Management Accountability
The Senior Program Manager will have management accountability for project teams, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring team members have the resources they need to succeed. They will also be responsible for managing project budgets and ensuring efficient use of resources.
Decision Making
The Senior Program Manager will have the authority to make decisions related to project planning, execution, and delivery. They will be responsible for resolving project issues and making recommendations to senior management when necessary. The role requires a high degree of autonomy and the ability to make informed decisions that impact project success.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in program management within the financial industry (bank) or a similar role of enterprise program management.
- Demonstrated Databases to Cloud migration program experience (on-prem to cloud, data centre to Cloud)
- Snowflake experience - an asset.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex technology projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- PMP - an asset.
