SQL Developer - MUST BE CURRENTLY BASED IN VANCOUVER

Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled SQL Developer to support designing and implementing efficient database solutions that drive business intelligence, data integration, and job automation. The ideal candidate has strong SQL and SSIS expertise, experience in batch processing, and a passion for delivering high-quality, reliable data solutions that enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, optimize, and maintain complex stored procedures to support business reporting.
• Design and manage SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Monitor and troubleshoot batch job execution, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
• Collaborate with business teams to gather reporting requirements and implement database solutions.
• Ensure data quality, security, and integrity throughout the ETL lifecycle.
• Work with data architects and engineers to apply best practices in data integration and performance tuning.
• Automate job scheduling and manage batch processes in UNIX-like environments.
• Maintain thorough documentation of database solutions, workflows, and schedules.
• Support audit requests and implement continuous improvements based on findings.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 7-8 years of SQL development experience with a strong focus on stored procedures and SQL Server.
• Proficiency with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL development.
• Solid understanding of job scheduling, batch processing, and shell scripting in UNIX environments.
• Proven ability to convert business requirements into technical solutions.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have:

• Familiarity with data warehousing and data modeling best practices.
• Experience with Python or another programming language for scripting and automation.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies.
• Hands-on with other data integration tools or cloud-based solutions.
