Manager, Cloud Engineering & Operations

9-5, in office 2 days per week (one day must be Tuesday)

15% bonus (50% individual performance and 50% company)

3 weeks vacation + closed over Christmas

RRSP match - employee puts in 5% and they contribute 2.5%.

Pension - mandatory after year 1, employee puts in 2% and they match 2%. If the employee puts in another 4% they will add another 2%.

Job Title: Manager, Cloud Engineering and Operations

Location: West End Toronto (Hybrid)

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Director, Cloud Infrastructure Architecture & Engineering.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of system engineers responsible for daily operations and 24/7 support of Cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with business, architecture, and development teams to design, implement, and maintain Cloud infrastructure technologies and solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for escalated incidents and problems, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal business impact.
  • Develop and nurture talent to build high-performing teams and foster a collaborative engineering culture.
  • Promote modern, Agile software development practices and core DevOps behaviors to drive change across development and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of managerial experience leading Cloud engineering, Cloud Operations, or DevOps/SRE support teams.
  • Experience implementing and using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Azure and hands-on experience with Azure-based solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience working in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and impact cross-functional environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in software development or computer engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with payment systems and the merchant acquiring business is an asset.
