Reporting to the Vice President, Health Safety and Environment the Health Claims Administrator will be responsible for managing and processing health-related claims, with a primary focus on claims involving the Workers Compensation Board (WCB).
Primary Scope of Role :
- Manage all aspects of WSIB health claims for employees, including submission, documentation, and follow-up to ensure timely resolution.
- Act as the primary liaison between employees, WSIB, healthcare providers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate claim information and resolve issues.
- Review, verify, and process health claim forms and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain accurate records of claims and correspondence.
- Communicate claim status updates and next steps to employees and management, addressing questions or concerns promptly.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues with claims, collaborating with legal or HR teams as needed.
- Ensure all claims are processed in accordance with WSIB regulations and company policies.
- Analyze claim data to identify trends, support risk management, and recommend process improvements.
- Stay current on WSIB and health claims regulations relevant to the construction industry in Ontario.
- Regularly review and verify incident data entries related to WSIB and other health claims to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Collect, organize, and analyze health claims data using Excel, ensuring all relevant information is up to date and accurately reflects ongoing and closed cases.
- Generate monthly reports by extracting and summarizing data from Excel to identify trends, highlight key metrics, and support management decision-making.
- Prepare clear and concise PowerPoint presentations based on monthly Excel data to communicate claim statistics and trends.
Position Requirements :
- Experience with WSIB claims or similar health claims processing in a construction or industrial environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with employees, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies. Fluency in English (speaking, reading, writing) is essential.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Ontario's WSIB legislation and procedures is an asset.
