Here's the job opportunity
Senior Actuarial Analyst to provide actuarial support for the ongoing development and production of IFRS17 financials. Product suite includes both life and annuity products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform quarterly IFRS 17 valuation for Life and Annuity lines of business, including running the AXIS model for reserve analysis, financial reporting, and variance analysis
- Provide analysis of movement in key IFRS 17 components and explain drivers of change
- Collaborate with Finance, Investment, Modelling team to ensure data integrity and process efficiency
- Assist in assumption setting and impact analysis for valuation reporting purposes
- Support internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance related to IFRS 17 processes and outputs
- Identify opportunities to streamline valuation processes and enhance reporting efficiency through automation and tool development
- Mentor analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing across the actuarial team
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Mathematics/Actuarial Science, Finance or Business-related degree
- 2 or more years of experience in the actuarial area
- Near ASA or equivalent designation, and actively pursuing actuarial exams
- Good understanding of IFRS 17 principles, actuarial reserving, and financial reporting frameworks
- Strong proficiency in GGY AXIS, Excel, and programming tools (Python, VBA, SQL) is an asset
- Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborative in a fast-paced environment.
