About Us:
At Voilà , we're not just imagining the future of education, we're building it. As a bold social enterprise, we operate at the intersection of impact and innovation through two interconnected entities with one shared mission. Voilà, our non-profit organization, partners with schools, communities, and governments to expand equitable access to education across Canada through community-driven programs and national initiatives. ConnectED Labs , our tech startup, serves as our innovation engine, designing immersive, experiential learning tools using metaverse and AI technologies.
Together, we're on a mission to make learning more accessible, human, and engaging, whether it's through community-led initiatives or cutting-edge platforms. Join a mission-driven, fast-paced environment at the intersection of global leadership, social impact, and innovation.
Position Snapshot: We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Product Manager to lead the development of our immersive 3D virtual environments and AI-powered agents. You'll serve as the strategic lead and driver behind the roadmap, product vision, and cross-functional execution of these platforms-including our AI assistant, an intelligent agent designed not only to support users with tasks, but to spark spontaneous, natural interactions among learners, educators, and professionals online. From user discovery to product delivery, you'll own the lifecycle, acting as the "CEO of the product" while collaborating closely with developers, designers, educators, and stakeholders. This is a rare opportunity to shape mission-driven product innovation at the intersection of education, AI, and social connection in a fast-growing EdTech company.
What You'll Do:
- Translate vision into execution. Turn high-level goals into scoped roadmaps, detailed user stories, and scalable product systems across platforms like MetaLingo, MetaProf, and inPerson.
- Lead end-to-end product development. Own discovery, backlog management, sprint planning, retrospectives, QA, and post-launch iteration. You'll act as Scrum Master where needed.
- Define and prioritize product requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and user needs, then transform them into actionable user stories, technical specs, and workflows in Jira.
- Build and evolve our AI assistant. Drive the development of an intelligent agent that supports users and fosters natural, spontaneous interaction inside our 3D environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally. Work with developers, designers, AI teams, and educators to ship features that are technically sound, user-centered, and pedagogically effective.
- Think in systems. Design features that connect seamlessly across user types, tools, and learning experiences; serving 10-year-old students, 30-year-old professionals, and education leaders alike.
- Make smart, user-centered decisions. Know when to ship fast and when to refine. Use data, user research, and stakeholder input to balance short-term impact with long-term product health.
- Hold people accountable. Ensure projects stay on track and timelines are met. Push execution forward without micromanaging-this role expects ownership and drives it in others.
- Make data-informed decisions. Use performance metrics, user behavior, A/B testing, and direct feedback to refine product direction and improve outcomes.
- Communicate clearly and often. Provide updates, demos, and documentation that align stakeholders and drive decision-making at all levels.
- Own tools and processes. Maintain clarity and accountability across Jira, Confluence, Miro, and other platforms. Continuously improve how the team works and ships.
- Represent product thinking externally. Join conversations with government partners, speak at conferences, and represent product in strategic discussions when needed.
- Evaluate platforms and tech. Lead assessments of third-party tools or AI integrations when "build vs. buy" decisions arise.
- Evaluate and iterate. Define KPIs and success metrics, build feedback loops, and lead post-launch reviews to learn, improve, and grow our products.
- Connect product execution with organizational goals. Ensure every product decision aligns with broader company OKRs, funding outcomes, and long-term vision-especially when working across education and government sectors.
- Balance speed and sustainability. Know when to push for fast iteration vs. when to pause for better design, performance, or alignment with evolving user needs and partnerships.
- Evaluate third-party tools and platforms. When build vs. buy decisions come up, lead assessments of external platforms that could accelerate our roadmap or reduce development time.
The Kind of Thinker We're Looking For
- Hands-on executor. Not just someone who oversees timelines, but someone who actively rolls up their sleeves; whether that means building workflows, running user sessions, writing product materials, or jumping into QA.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats. This is a startup. Priorities shift, roles evolve, and we need someone who's resourceful, adaptable, and energized by the unknown.
- Builder mindset. You're not here to "keep the lights on." You're excited to build new systems, shape new products, and iterate as we grow, because the playbook is still being written.
- Self-directed and accountable. You take initiative, follow through, and thrive in an environment where you're trusted to lead. We don't micromanage, and we don't want to start.
- Tech-curious and education-aware. You don't need to code, but you're confident navigating AI tools, immersive platforms, and unfamiliar systems. You're not intimidated by new tech, and ideally, you care about how people learn.

- Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum) and leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity
- Technical fluency-able to discuss system architecture, model performance, design trade-offs, and UX impact with technical teams
