Job Summary

The Donor & Sponsor Relations Specialist plays a key role in securing mid-level philanthropic gifts and corporate sponsorships to support the Boreal Healthcare Foundation's fundraising priorities. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this externally focused role cultivates and stewards meaningful relationships with individuals, businesses, and community organizations capable of contributing between $1,000 and $100,000.

This position directly supports the success of the Equip the Vic Campaign and other strategic initiatives by advancing donor engagement, building sponsorship partnerships, and ensuring consistent outreach, recognition, and reporting in collaboration with other members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

Campaign Giving ($1,000 - $100,000)

  • Manage a portfolio of mid- to major-level individual and corporate prospects
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of $1,000-$100,000 gifts to the Equip the Vic Campaign and other Foundation priorities
  • Prepare tailored proposals, impact reports, and donor communications in collaboration with the Director, Marketing & Communications
  • Coordinate with the Manager, Donor Engagement & Communications to ensure accurate segmentation and stewardship touchpoints
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Philanthropy Advisors to support transitions to and from major gift-level relationships

Sponsorship Development

  • Lead sponsorship acquisition for Foundation-led events including:
  • Give A Little Life Day Radiothon
  • The Med Gala
  • The Lynx Golf Tournament
  • Craft compelling sponsorship proposals and benefit packages tailored to business priorities
  • Ensure delivery and tracking of sponsorship recognition and fulfillments
  • Build and sustain multi-year sponsor relationships

Donor & Sponsor Engagement

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sponsor and donor records in the Foundation's CRM
  • Participate in donor and sponsor recognition, cultivation, and event hosting
  • Work cross-functionally with the Marketing and Engagement teams to ensure cohesive and impactful supporter experiences

Collaboration & Administration

  • Participate in weekly donor strategy meetings and portfolio reviews
  • Provide regular updates to the CEO and contribute to campaign reporting and metrics
  • Collaborate with staff, contractors, and volunteers to support execution of donor and sponsor initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in fundraising, sponsorship development, corporate relations, or business development.
  • Proven success securing sponsorships and/or mid-level gifts.
  • Strong relationship management skills and professional presence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with donor CRM systems and reporting tools (preferred).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and driven to meet revenue goals
  • Knowledge of healthcare or community-based philanthropy is an asset

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of donor and sponsor cultivation meetings completed annually
  • Number of formal asks made annually (gifts and sponsorships)
  • Total revenue raised through mid-level gifts and sponsorships
  • Number of new donors and sponsors secured
  • Year-over-year retention of donors and sponsors
  • Fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables and donor recognition plans
  • Growth in the mid-level and business support pipelines

Position: Full-time

Location: Prince Albert, SK

Salary Range: $50,000 - $85,000

The Boreal Healthcare Foundation uses a three-tier salary band structure to support transparency and growth. Placement within the band will be based on experience and qualifications.

  • Developmental: $50,000 - $59,999
  • Fully Competent: $60,000 - $69,999
  • High Performance: $70,000 - $85,000
