A small town north of Val-d'Or in Northern Quebec is seeking two experienced Certified Water Treatment Operator (OW1) to join their municipal services team on a rotational basis.
This small, tight-knit community relies on its operators to keep their drinking water and sewage systems safe, compliant, and fully operational. If you're a skilled operator with your OW1 certification and are ready to take the lead in a self-directed role, we want to hear from you.
What You Will Receive:
- Drive-in position (approx. 15 hours from Montreal) - gas reimbursed
- Fully covered accommodations and meals
- Vehicle provided on-site
- Rotational schedule - always one operator on-site
- Pay: $35 - $38 / hour based on experience
- Hands-on role with autonomy - you'll be the go-to expert on-site
What You Will Be Doing
- Operate, monitor, and maintain the town's drinking water and wastewater treatment systems
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and chemical adjustments
- Respond to equipment issues, system alarms, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain logs and reports
- Be available during your rotation as the lead contact for water-related operations
What You Bring To The Table
- Valid OW1 water treatment operator certification
- Prior experience in municipal or industrial water/wastewater systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
- Fluent in French
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive to the site
