JDass Corp is hiring a skilled and creative Video Content Creator to join our growing in-house marketing team. This full-time, on-site role in Vaughan, ON, involves daily travel to our various business units across GTA. If you have a knack for capturing compelling visuals and editing on the go, we'd love to see your portfolio!

Job Title: Video Content Creator

Location: On-site Vaughan, Ontario (Daily travel to various business units)

Type: Full-time permanent

Ideal Candidate:

  • A fast-moving, self-sufficient video content creator who can shoot, edit, and publish on the go.
  • Deep understanding of mobile-first content - short-form videos, vertical formats, trending transitions, etc.
  • Lives on social. Obsessed with TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts - knows what's viral, what's not, and why algorithms favour certain formats/content.
  • Pro-level with CapCut and other mobile + desktop video editing tools.
  • Regular user of AI tools to edit faster, auto-subtitle, and improve workflow.
  • Can operate a drone, with a great eye for aerial and cinematic framing.
  • Comfortable giving direction and pulling the best out of on-camera talent and stakeholders.
  • Creative thinker with strong visual storytelling instincts and relentless content ideas.
  • Naturally collaborative, with strong interpersonal skills for working across diverse teams.
  • Detail-focused but not a perfectionist - gets content out quickly and confidently.
  • Ready and immediately available to start.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and produce video content from concept to final delivery, including scripting, filming, editing, and publishing, with a focus on high-volume, short-form content optimized for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Travel to various JDass business units daily to capture footage on-location - ranging from retail and hospitality environments to corporate offices and industrial settings-ensuring a steady flow of relevant, real-world content.
  • Shoot video content on the go using mobile devices, (iPhone, etc.), as well as on DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, etc. balancing speed and quality.
  • Edit videos using mobile apps (CapCut, etc.) for quick-turnaround stories, and desktop software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve) for polished content.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders-including business owners, operations teams, and frontline staff-to help them feel comfortable on camera, provide direction during shoots, and bring out authentic and engaging content.
  • Edit content for engaging visuals, clarity, and platform-specific optimization, including adding subtitles, overlays, transitions, and music to align with brand voice and current trends.
  • Incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance video workflows, streamline editing, automate captions, repurpose long-form content into short-form clips, and accelerate turnaround time.
  • Organize and manage a growing video asset library, collecting a variety of B-rolls, ensuring footage is labelled, backed up, and accessible for future use and repurposing.
  • Contribute to content planning meetings, sharing ideas for how video can amplify campaign goals or bring creative concepts to life across social platforms.
  • Stay on top of evolving video trends, algorithms, and best practices across social media platforms to ensure content remains fresh, relevant, and engaging to target audiences.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Video Production, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in video content creation, videography, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various business sites daily.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce engaging video content for social media and digital platforms.
  • Proficiency in mobile video editing tools and desktop editing software like CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.
  • Experience with drone videography is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven video editing tools is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated team player with a collaborative and adaptable attitude.
  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
