Job Title: Senior Cognos Developer

Location: Halifax, CA (Remote)

Job Overview:

Senior Cognos Developer to design, develop, and implement enterprise-level business intelligence (BI) solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data reporting and visualization tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Cognos Analytics reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Optimize performance and scalability of Cognos-based solutions.
• Collaborate with business analysts to understand and refine reporting needs.
• Create complex frameworks and data models to support analytical use cases.
• Ensure high data quality, integrity, and security.
• Debug and resolve Cognos-related issues and system bottlenecks.
• Document development processes, configurations, and report logic.
• Validate and analyze data during unit and regression testing phases.
• Participate in Agile development practices such as Scrum and XP.
• Coordinate with DBAs and EDW system admins for deployments and support.
• Analyze and resolve data quality issues from upstream sources.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on Cognos development experience.
• Expertise in Cognos Analytics, including:
• Framework Manager
• Report Studio
• Dashboarding
• Transformer
• Strong SQL skills for complex data queries and transformations.
• Experience with Teradata and Oracle, including performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of logical and physical data models.
• Ability to work independently and in a 24x7 support environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cognos or BI-related certifications.
• Experience in the healthcare (payer/provider) industry.
