Job Description

The Detail Designer II, Nesting is responsible for supporting the Steel Value Stream regarding all yard related and outsourced part cutting. This comprises of (i) producing adequate documentation related to nesting (drawings, reports, etc.) (ii) generating the CNC programs necessary to feed into the various cutting machines used by the yard and (iii) providing production support for ongoing work

Duties/Accountabilities.

• Perform AutoNesting tasks in software, based on pre-set work packages and deadlines
• Execute any required post processing either on a part geometry level or directly on the nest drawings / reports to make them ready for distribution.
• Develop software-assisted Tooling (generating cnc programs for steel cutting machines)
• Provide technical support and resolution for all sorts of in-prompt production queries from shop floor.
• Maintain stock catalogue with constant collaboration with Supply Chain Team.
• Liaise closely with adjacent stakeholders to intelligently determine how to level load volume of work at hand.

Education and Experience

• Associate Design degree or equivalent experience required.
• Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD software
• Experience with CNC Machine Program creation is very useful but not mandatory.
• At least 2-3 years in-depth experience in Detailed Design in Manufacturing Industries.
• Preference for knowledge with Cadmatic, Alma Nesting, and ARAS.

Skills, Knowledge and Required Competencies

• Effective communication skills across a variety of disciplines.
• Ability to work in Cadmatic, Alma and AutoCAD.
• Demonstrated knowledge with CNC programming software such as Columbus, Procam, NcPyros, etc.
