We are seeking a Customs Compliance Officer to join a vibrant team of 20 staff in downtown Vancouver. Courtney works closely with our sister company PMK International LLC, a US licensed customs brokerage business with 14 staff in Seattle, Washington.

Training & Business Development

Train and mentor 9 customs staff to meet customs compliance standards

Oversee HS Tariff Classifications and develop the team's classification skills

Support new client inquiries, sales processes and new client onboarding

Advise clients on compliance matters

Contribute to company plans and management team

Compliance

Monitor and ensure customs operations are compliant with regulations and laws

Develop and deliver compliance policies and procedures to reduce risk

Oversee quality control (QC)/daily audit program

Stay current on CBSA and related legislation and compliance programs

Liaise with CBSA, CFIA, and other government departments on regulatory matters

Facilitate customs rulings, refunds and related items

Skills & Experience

CTCS and/or Licensed Customs Broker (CCS implied)

10+ years of customs brokerage and compliance experience

Strong knowledge of Canadian customs laws, tariffs, and trade regulations

Strong software skills and ability to report effectively

Strategic mindset focused on clients and business results

A leader who inspires an enthusiastic team to learn, develop and serve clients well
