SENIOR EVENT SALES MANAGER - STACKT
STACKT is on a mission to create an ecosystem that's unconstrained by tradition and designed for inspired brands and consumers. Here, culture, commerce, and curiosity thrive as one. Every day since our April 2019 launch, we've been reinventing how it's done - incubating and accelerating new concepts, connecting inspired brands and consumers, growing and creating together.
From emerging small businesses to progressive big brands, STACKT's award-winning Toronto flagship, STACKT market, animates 100,000 sq ft with art, retail, events, and public space. Made entirely of shipping containers, the dynamic space shifts alongside the brands, people, and experiences within it. Featuring more than 3,000 businesses in residence since launch, there's always something new to discover.
Much more than a market, STACKT is a space to find inspiration, opportunity, and connection.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Event Sales Manager to play a pivotal leadership role in STACKT's event strategy and execution, particularly focusing on venue and event sales. This role sits at the intersection of business development, event operations, and team management - with a unique opportunity to grow over time. You will drive new event opportunities (private and public), support key elements of our GTM strategy, and lead the execution of events with excellence.
As the right hand to the Director, this role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on leadership. You'll mentor a growing team, collaborate cross-functionally, and help build an event ecosystem that balances revenue, brand, and community.
Role & Responsibilities
(including but not limited to)
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and convert new leads into event bookings (private, public, brand partnerships).
- Lead inbound/outbound sales funnels with strategic planning for quarterly goals.
- Source new leads through various strategies.
- Collaborate with the Director on packages, pitches, and market positioning.
- Act as the face of STACKT during client walk-throughs and sales meetings.
- Support client retention strategies and post-event reporting.
Event Strategy & Execution
- Project-manage event timelines, approvals, and logistics across private and public formats.
- Oversee day-of execution for key events; troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Programming) to deliver aligned experiences.
- Build and maintain SOPs and documentation for smooth event delivery.
- Develop and circulate event briefing materials (e.g., run-of-show, BEOs) for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with vendors and partners during build-outs and load-in to ensure efficient setup and brand alignment.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Oversee supplier relationships, service quality, and event compliance.
- Ensure contracts are current and vendor scope aligns with STACKT's standards.
- Source new suppliers based on event demand or strategic fit.
Financial Accountability
- Track, report, and reconcile event budgets and monthly sales targets.
- Maintain oversight of contract obligations, deposits, and billing timelines.
- Identify cost-saving or revenue-generating opportunities.
- Contribute to quarterly forecasting and GTM planning cycles.
About You
You're a strong, balanced leader who knows when to roll up your sleeves and when to step back and strategize. You're curious, entrepreneurial, and energized by creating experiences that surprise and delight. You think in moments, but execute with structure. You value collaboration and can be the "yin" to a driven department lead's "yang."
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in events, sales (including venue sales), and/or experiential marketing with a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience (direct or project-based).
- Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing vendors, budgets, timelines, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with CRM, project planning software, and Google Suite.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable being on-site 3-4 times per week to support events, meetings, and other in-person obligations, in alignment with internal policies.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. STACKT operates beyond a traditional 9-5, and this role requires adaptability while maintaining work-life balance.
- Able to lift up to 25-30 lbs (approximately 11-14 kg) and occasionally perform physical tasks related to site needs, workspace adjustments, or event and programming setup and breakdown.
- Comfortable leading and responding in real time during high-pressure, fast-moving events or site activations.
What You'll Gain
Beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, this role offers the opportunity to grow within a purpose-driven team that values creativity, collaboration, and impact. You'll help lead initiatives that shape STACKT's most important projects, working cross-functionally to drive innovation and deliver results that matter to our community and partners. It's a chance to lead with purpose while developing your impact in a creative, entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation & Perks
Compensation for this role will be determined based on relevant experience and alignment with the role's expectations at STACKT. Subject to internal policies and role eligibility, the total compensation package includes additional perks - which we'd be happy to discuss during the hiring process.
At STACKT, we take pride in doing meaningful work alongside a dynamic, collaborative team. You'll be surrounded by creative, driven individuals who bring ideas to life and know how to have fun along the way - whether supporting startups, hosting renowned brands, or participating in our one-of-a-kind team socials.
We're proud to be recognized with multiple awards for innovation and placemaking, and we're actively growing across Canada to bring that impact to more communities.
More than a space - we're building a platform where culture, commerce, and community thrive together.
