Contract Role: Capital Procurement Advisor / Senior Advisor
Location: Saskatoon area (local candidates preferred)
Contract Duration: Until December 31, 2025 (possibility of extension)
Work Arrangement: in person (mix of site-based and corporate office work)
Our client, a large organization in the resource sector, is seeking a Contract Capital Procurement Advisor (or Senior Advisor) to support several project sites in the Saskatoon region. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong experience in capital procurement, sourcing, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop proactive procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and capital project forecasts.
- Provide expert guidance on procurement best practices while ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Execute full-cycle sourcing activities including RFx processes, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract finalization.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gain buy-in and ensure alignment with project demands.
- Draft contract documents and participate in the negotiation of terms and conditions.
- Support project teams with contractor onboarding, change management, and claims resolution.
- Prepare contract strategy documents, award recommendations, and executive summaries.
- Promote diversity and inclusion, particularly in support of Indigenous engagement initiatives.
- Engage in peer leadership, coaching, and mentoring within the procurement team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to lead complex sourcing and procurement processes.
- Experience negotiating legal and commercial contract terms.
- Proficiency in enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and spend management tools (e.g., Ariba).
- Strong command of Microsoft Office and adaptability to new technology platforms.
- Experience in supplier relationship management, spend analytics, and risk management considered an asset.
- Previous involvement in contract administration, including invoice review and claims handling, is a plus.
