Position: Planning and Productivity Coordinator

Location: Bonnyville, AB; Potential for Remote, Hybrid

Salary: TBD

Type: Full Time, Permanent

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Touchplan and other scheduling tools
  • Lead and facilitate pull planning sessions to align field execution with project milestones
  • Collaborate with internal teams and subcontractors to sequence work, identify constraints, and remove roadblocks
  • Coordinate subcontractor schedules, monitor their progress, and ensure alignment with the overall project plan
  • Manage and forecast available labor across multiple projects to maximize efficiency and proactively identify manpower constraints
  • Plan major equipment deliveries to ensure they arrive at the fabrication shop or job site when needed to support schedule milestones
  • Oversee fabrication work package planning and coordination to ensure shop drawings, materials, and production timelines align with field needs
  • Generate and distribute look-ahead schedules, progress updates, and reports for internal teams and clients
  • Monitor schedule performance, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions to maintain productivity goals
  • Support Lean Construction initiatives and champion continuous improvement in planning and execution processes
  • Provide real-time schedule updates and ensure accuracy of field data and trade inputs
  • Track crew productivity and installation rates to benchmark performance and support labor forecasting
  • Assist with job site walk-throughs to validate work progress, crew deployment, subcontractor activity, and workflow efficiency
  • Identify and report inefficiencies, rework, or delays, and work with field leadership and subcontractors to implement recovery plans
  • Support field teams in setting daily goals and aligning them with weekly work plans and the master schedule
  • Help drive a culture of accountability through transparent communication and consistent follow-up
  • Qualifications:

Experience & Knowledge

  • 3+ years of planning/scheduling experience in mechanical or industrial construction
  • Hands-on experience with Touchplan or similar collaborative planning tools
  • Proven ability to lead or contribute meaningfully to pull planning sessions
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems (piping, HVAC, plumbing, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Lean Construction principles, constraint tracking, and workflow optimization
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors and managing fabrication workflows is a plus
  • Skills & Credentials

    • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Skilled at sourcing critical information from clients and stakeholders - even when it's not readily available
    • Proficient in schedule analysis and progress reporting
    • Understands that scheduling is not always black and white; able to estimate, identify areas needing placeholders, and revisit these as more information becomes available
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and efficiency
    • Certification in Lean Construction, PMP, or AACE is considered an asset
