MaxSys Staffing and Consulting - an Agilus company is looking for a IT Cloud Architect, Senior to support the Portfolio which includes work associated with supporting both department's systems and the Program's legacy systems.

We're Hiring: IT Cloud Architect, AWS/Azure

Location: Ottawa, ON

Contract Duration: ASAP for 2 years, plus option periods

Hours: 37.5 per week

Security Clearance: Reliability or Secret Clearance

Must-Haves (no exceptions):

• Must have 5-7 years of experience as an IT cloud Architect for AWS and/or Azure.
• Must have 3-5 years of experience applying best practices for developing cloud applications for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Lead/Support Options analysis, development and deployments of a cross platform (ASW and Azure) monitoring tool that will allow department to monitor, analyze and optimize application performance, software development and security practices, IT infrastructure and user experience.
• Recommending cloud infrastructure design and architecture strategies including hub-and- spoke design, virtual Hub, virtual WAN, cloud perimeter, connectivity, etc.
• Recommending cloud migration strategies (Retain, Retire, Repurchase, Re-host, Re- platform, Re-factor) based on options analysis, specifically, Workload Migration from on- premises to the cloud.
• Capturing and analyzing business needs to define technical and functional requirements for the following projects, but not limited to, HIP, CXP, CMP, Monitoring, SCED, etc.
• Implementing proofs of concept to validate migration strategies on the platform, including AWS and Azure, including projects, but not limited to, LLZ to LZA upgrade, ASEA to LZA upgrade.
• Applying cloud-native architecture best practices for developing and deploying cloud applications for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud solutions
• Adhering to best practices, guardrails, and recommendations for cloud architecture and design.
• Utilizing DevOps principles and practices as defined by department's Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE).
