Shifts available: Morning, Afternoon, and Midnights (8 hours shift per day) Weekend shifts are available too.

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in assisted living, nursing home, or senior care environments. This position requires a strong commitment to supporting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Responsibilities
Support for Daily Living Activities
- Assist with meal and nutrition breaks by supporting the set-up, delivery, and service of food to residents in dining rooms, their rooms, or activity areas.
- Escort residents safely to and from their rooms and throughout the home, including to activities, fostering a positive and supportive experience.
- Help residents manage personal belongings, organize laundry, choose clothing, and maintain a safe, clean, and tidy personal environment, including making beds.
- Support residents in using personal devices (e.g., phones or tablets) to connect with family and friends.
Providing Comfort, Engagement, and Companionship
- Greet residents, families, and visitors in a warm, supportive manner, offering assistance as needed.
- Provide companionship to residents, reflecting their individual preferences and enhancing their sense of purpose.
- Assist the care team in monitoring and facilitating visitor interactions.
- Support resident engagement by helping set up and prepare for recreational activities and programs.
Team Collaboration and Communication
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Monitor residents for behavioral or health changes and report concerns to the care team promptly.
- Assist team members with transfers or repositioning of residents, as appropriate.
- Participate in care team meetings as needed to support coordinated resident care.
- Check and restock supplies, monitor equipment, and report issues to the supervisor.
- Work independently and as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary care team.
Qualifications
- Previous 2 years of experience in patient care, home care, or assisted living is preferred.
- MUST be certified as a Resident Support Aide.
- MUST have a Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC), TB Test, and Covid-19 Vaccine record.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
