Role: Talent Development Specialist
Location: Fort Erie, Ontario
Duration: Full time
Work to be performed:
1. Designs and implements aerospace-specific onboarding and upskilling programs to support workforce competency and retention.
2. Develops and standardizes processes and procedures associated with training, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and company standards.
3. Coaches hiring managers to ensure new employees are effectively onboarded and integrated into their roles.
4. Works closely with production and engineering teams to identify skill gaps and training needs in areas such as Composites & Bonding, Sealing & Electrical Bonding, Blueprint Reading & Measurement Techniques, Inspection and all other processes.
5. Develops materials and conducts training, as needed, including compliance training, hands on instruction, and certifications required for manufacturing operations. Develop materials and conduct training, as needed, to ensure that all performance management tools are accurately understood and exercised
6. Designs and delivers leadership development programs for supervisors and team leads to enhance management skills in an aerospace setting.
Skills needed:
Technical Skills : Experience designing and delivering training for aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, or quality assurance teams. Strong understanding of technical processes such as assembly, composites, bonding, chemical processing, heat treatment, FAI, electrical bonding, blueprint reading, and measurement techniques.
Ability to research develop competency-based training programs for specialized aerospace roles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts. Experience in contributing to training on technical processes with mangers and operators. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity. Excellent listening and communication skills and the capacity to form effective working relationships; Strong presentation, organizational and time management skills.
Education / Experience: 4-10 years of experience in one of the following areas:
talent development/management, HR, operations management, training, or have studied/worked in this field, preferably within aerospace or advanced manufacturing. Qualification Assessment: Ongoing informal observation/assessment of work performance provides continuing evidence of capabilities and proficiencies.
