Dynamics 365 Co-Lead Architect MUST HAVE CRITERIA (UPDATED)

  • Technical Experience - Must have Dynamics 365 experiences as a Senior Architect on large Dynamics 365 projects
  • Personality Experience - Driver type of personality (move things along quickly and responsibly), and doesn't shy from some heavy lifting
  • Implementation - client is implementing a world class Dynamics 365 Call Center solution (serving customers Canada wide and internal customers) and Dynamics 365 CRM in the current Phase (must have either D365 Call Center experience or D365 CRM experience while also having other D365 module experience to complement and round out D365 ecosystem knowledge and expertise)
  • Must have experience with the five pillars of architecture:
  1. Security - Protecting systems, data, and users from threats with encryption, authentication, and access control.
  2. Scalability - Ensuring systems can grow and handle increased loads efficiently.
  3. Reliability - Designing systems to be fault-tolerant and available, minimizing downtime.
  4. Performance - Optimizing speed and efficiency to meet user expectations.
  5. Cost-Effectiveness - Balancing expenses while maintaining quality and functionality.
  • Experience end to end architecting / solution design of large CRM, Call Center, eCommerce, Finance, or Sales and Service ERPs based on D365
  • A blend of architecture experiences with Dynamics 365 (Primary skill must have)
  • Only looking for the best of the best in this role (AAA players only as this role is a Co-Lead role on a very large multi year program)

Job Title: Co-Lead Architect

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Lead Architect to oversee the technical planning and implementation of the second phase of a business applications transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining an integrated solution to support Point of Sale ("POS"), Finance, Sales and Service, and eCommerce processes. The Lead Architect will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, software providers, and our system integrator to select required software, define a world-class systems architecture, design a comprehensive and integrated solution, and assist in planning and implementation of the defined solution. The role requires a strong technical background, deep experience in leading complex projects, and the ability to work well in a complex and high-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Co-lead, with our primary systems integrator, to define the technical architecture and a detailed solution design that includes POS, Finance, Sales and Service ("CRM") and eCommerce and builds on top of the architecture implemented as part of first phase of the transformation program.

- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and document business requirements and translate them into solution architecture and high-level system design

- Collaborate with technical teams to refine the solution architecture, figure out technical implementation approaches and refine the high-level design to align with technical capabilities and constraints.

- Dive deeper with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements for areas including but not limited to system-to-system integrations, data conversion and migration, reporting and analytics, non-functional requirements including but not limited to performance, security, monitoring & alerting. Refine solution architecture based on the requirements.

- Document risks or issues that could impact the project's success, develop mitigation plans, and help manage the risks and issues to closure

- Identify, document and complete decisions transparently with required stakeholders.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including requirements, system design documents and technical specifications.

- Manage project timelines, effort, and resources to ensure successful completion of this early planning phase

- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and business stakeholders, helping them make effective and informed decisions.

- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in systems implementation and architecture

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.

- 10+ years of experience in technical architecture and delivery leadership roles, including experience delivering some of the following: Point of Sale, Finance, Sales and Service, and eCommerce systems. Experience with eCommerce and Point of Sale is preferred.

- Strong technical expertise in systems implementation and architecture, including experience with customization, integration, data transformations and deployment

- Excellent communication skills and a well-developed ability to document complex technology decisions for a non-technical audience is required.

- Ability and habit of developing, socializing, and executing complex work plans with multiple team members is required.

- Extensive experience with Microsoft business applications or industry-leading equivalent software products. Experience with Microsoft CRM, Microsoft Commerce and Microsoft F&O preferred.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Experience leading complex projects and managing technical teams

- A world-class team player who works well with a capable, informed, and established project team.

- The ability to mentor and develop the above abilities in teammates is required.

The Lead Architect will play a critical role in the success of this project. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with all stakeholders, including business users, technical teams, and vendors, to ensure that the solution meets the needs of the business while adhering to technical best practices. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and an ability to manage competing priorities and complex tasks in a high-paced environment.
