My Catering Group is a dynamic and multi-faceted catering company that has grown through a variety of exciting contracts. We're seeking like-minded, enthusiastic individuals to join our expanding team. While our operations are based at the Museum of History, the Museum of Nature, the Canadian War Museum, and Vignoble de Chelsea, our events take place across Ottawa and the surrounding region.
The Sales Associate plays a vital role in driving revenue and delivering exceptional client service. This position is responsible for managing client inquiries, preparing tailored quotes, and ensuring smooth communication between clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective clients. You will qualify leads, craft customized proposals, and collaborate with our culinary and operations teams to design menus and experiences that align with client goals. You will also ensure a smooth handoff of confirmed events to the operations team, helping deliver seamless, memorable events from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries, collecting relevant event details.
- Qualify leads and gather additional information as needed via phone, email, or in-person meetings.
- Prepare accurate, personalized quotes and follow up to address client preferences or revisions.
- Maintain clear, timely communication with clients, ensuring all questions are answered and tasks are tracked to completion.
- Collaborate with culinary and coordination teams to develop tailored menus and beverage options for weddings, corporate functions, and private events.
- Attend networking events, industry functions, and trade shows to promote My Catering Group and build client relationships.
- Track sales progress, leads, and client interactions using CRM software.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in sales, customer service, or a related field; experience in catering, hospitality, or event planning is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to build client relationships and manage multiple projects or inquiries simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a personable and professional demeanor.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar) and CRM platforms; adaptable to learning new tools.
- Bilingualism in French and English is required.
