Morson Canada is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to support our client quality assurance initiatives.

This role is integral to advancing our commitment to excellence by ensuring compliance with internal standards, contractual requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
The Intermediate Quality Specialist will play a key role in analyzing quality trends, driving process improvements, conducting quality checks, and supporting audits and risk mitigation strategies across operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Quality Systems Management: Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 / ISO 9001, Technical Airworthiness and other applicable standards.
- Ensure documentation, policies, and procedures are up to date, controlled, and consistently applied across the organization.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving: Investigate quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, FMEA) and support the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to eliminate recurrence.
- Internal and External Audits: Support quality audits to verify compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and contractual commitments.
- Support external audits conducted by customers, certifying bodies, or government agencies.
- Inspect received components for serviceability, associated paperwork for completeness and prepare the customer release documentation. Provide technical inspection and conditioning of components returned to the Canadian Forces Supply Depots.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop, maintain, and analyze quality metrics, KPIs, and trend reports.
- Customer and Stakeholder Interface: Serve as a point of contact for quality-related inquiries from customers, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Document and Change Control: Ensure control of quality documentation and records.
REQUIRED (Education, experience, knowledge, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electronics, Aviation, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, preferably in a defence, aerospace, or high-tech environment.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100, Technical Airworthiness Standards.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA).
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ERP systems
- Superior analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance at a Secret Level
Preferred:
- Certification in quality (e.g., CQI, CQE, CQA, Six Sigma) is considered an asset.
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent experience working on complex electronics is considered an asset.
- Lead Auditor Certification in ISO 9001 or AS9100 standard(s).
- Experience with The Department of National Defence Supply Chain and/or Technical Airworthiness Authority environment.
- Internal Auditor Certification in ISO 9001 or AS9100 standard(s) is considered an asset.
