Job Description:

The Intermediate Research & Media Strategist is responsible for fulfilling internal sales team (national and retail) research requests and providing actionable insights based off various data outlets to support sales. They will also be responsible for supporting sales teams by translating our research knowledge into various media strategies to plan and execute effective advertising campaigns.

The position requires strong interpersonal and client management, project management, research skills and media experience. The main purpose of this position is to provide a wide range of custom and standard analytical services to support PATTISON's sales teams. We are seeking highly motivated applicants with the right combination of media and market research experience. The successful applicant will report to PATTISON's Research & Media Strategy Manager in Mississauga.

What you'll do

SALES SUPPORT & MEDIA STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

• Collect and analyze data from syndicated resources on consumer demographics, psychographics, and habits in order to identify opportunities for the sale of PATTISON's products across Canada.

• Develop media strategies to achieve specific marketing objectives.

• Communicate clearly and understand the objectives of the requests.

• Formulate a plan to meet request requirements.

• Prepare reports which derive strong insights from data and deliver them in a concise, visually impactful way that is easy to understand.

• Synthesize data from primary, syndicated, and secondary sources into succinct and reader-friendly deliverables for use in marketing materials, sales proposals, and executive stakeholder reports/presentations.

• Work with sales teams to educate on various media strategies utilizing various data supports.

• Will be responsible for providing strategic insight into client campaigns in order to develop the most efficient and impactful media communication plan.

Who you are

• Minimum of a BA/BS degree, preferably in social sciences, market research, statistics or equivalent.

• Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional services full-time work experience in a media strategy, research and/or marketing.

• Experience in a professional services or sales environment is an asset.

• Familiarity with Numeris RTS, Vividata, Media Radar, and/or Environics Analytics data is an asset but not required.

• A proficiency with quantitative research/custom research and syndicated research (interpreting respondent data and providing insights or recommendations and delivery high quality work).

• Demonstrates strong ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, translating complex concepts and results of research into clear and concise language.

• Strong understanding of data collection and analytical processes.

• Excellent planning and organizational skills with well-developed time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple timelines, prioritize changing needs, and keep team members as well as clients updated on timing expectations.

• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.

• Self-starter, critical thinker, with strong logic, reasoning and problem-solving skills. Able to assess research questions at hand and determine the best solution using available resources.

• Active learner, open to taking direction and able to apply feedback to future tasks.

• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills with demonstrated experience presenting quality work with a high attention to detail.

• A high proficiency with Microsoft Office with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel.

• Proficient in English and/or French (written, verbal and comprehension).
