Job Summary
The Expert, Technical Integration is responsible for the successful deployment of advanced telecommunications infrastructure, services, applications, and systems using automation frameworks, infrastructure as code and other Development Operations (DevOps) methodologies. The role ensures that all business requirements are met by team members and projects and contributes to the global evolution of CN's Information and Technology (I&T). Moreover, the incumbent ensures that the technology delivered is secure, reliable, available, resilient, performant, and aligned with safety standards as per business requirements.
Main Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Lead Telecom integration activities during the planning, build and deploy phases, working closely with Project Managers to ensure successful deliveries
Contribute to solution designs by identifying the existing capabilities and sharing it with Solution and System Designers
Estimate the overall solution costs (e.g. Telecom, Signals and Communications (S&C), vendor, Infrastructure, Development) and share information with the Project Manager and stakeholders
Work with Project Managers during the planning phases and identify skillsets and challenges applicable to deployments
Lab-test new configurations and software as well as feed manufacturers to fix issues
Investigate incidents through root-cause analysis and propose solutions for remediation
Develop strong partnerships with Solution and System Designers to provide feedback on deployment challenges and gaps
Define processes and mechanisms to establish structured system deployment and integration
Provide technical guidance to Solution and Systems Specialists and expert advice to all stakeholders
Extend existing network automation frameworks to improve velocity of deployments as well as new version and feature testing
Technology Innovation Leadership
Collaborate with Expert Solution, System Designers, Integrators, and Architects to develop new solutions and expose them to stakeholders
Interact with vendors to address present and upcoming requirements
Explore advanced technologies with the potential to improve the efficiency, reliability and security of CN's Telecom infrastructure, applications, network technologies, and services
Access technical and deployment challenges continuously and report proposals to upper management
Lead Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Technology (POT) in Lab to test new solutions, configurations, and software
Investigate incidents through root-cause analysis and propose solutions for remediation
People Leadership
Engage and lead other technical teams to overview the success of the overall solution delivery
Provide guidance, training, documentation about the solution and on required deployment tasks to other integrators, testers and operation teams
Drive integration decisions that span multiple domains and teams
Perform upper management technical presentations
Support and supervise change controls done by less experienced team members
Leads activities to transfer new solutions to the Operational Support teams (T2C)
Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.
Requirements
Experience
Telecommunications Technology
Minimum 12 years of work experience in roles involving complex hardware and software systems as well as telecommunications technologies
Minimum 7 years of experience in technical leadership roles
o Experience in Internet Protocol (IP) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) networking, data center network services, wide area networks (WAN) and software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN), wired and wireless access technologies, high-availability systems and safety-critical systems, as well as firewalls and cybersecurity practices
o Experience with the architecture, design, and deployment of networks on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud service providers
o Experience in virtualization and cloud technologies as well as automation, scripting and software development
Any experience for these above would be considered as an asset
Education/Certification/Designation
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field of study
Cisco certifications at the Associate, Professional, or Expert level, or equivalent certifications in telecommunications and related specialties

Technical Skills/Knowledge
Strong knowledge of processes, methodologies, tools and techniques, used for the integration and delivery of large-scale information technology systems, including Operational Technology (OT) systems
Comfortable working across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as it relates to network configuration and infrastructure as code, particularly using Terraform
Proficient in developing and automating solutions using Python, Ansible and Terraform
Knowledge of DevOps tools and technologies including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and Git version control system
