Are you an experienced mechanic ready to take on exciting field work across Northern Alberta? Surepoint is seeking Journeyman Mechanics based out of Grande Prairie, AB to support maintenance runs and engine/compressor overhauls.
About the Role
As a Journeyman Mechanic with Surepoint, you will perform field service and maintenance on natural gas engines and compression equipment. You'll be part of a high-performing, safety-first team, delivering top-tier service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Overhaul, maintain, and repair Caterpillar G3600, Waukesha engines, and compressors including Ariel, Dresser Rand, and Gemini.
• Troubleshoot and repair ignition and instrument panels.
• Assist in package start-up and commissioning processes.
• Provide accurate and detailed daily reporting and time sheets to customers.
• Identify and act on opportunities to improve service quality and equipment reliability.
• Communicate effectively with the Service Coordinator and Branch Management.
• Promote and actively participate in a culture of safety and compliance.
Qualifications
• Journeyman or Registered Apprentice Heavy-Duty Mechanic.
• Minimum 3 years' field service experience in a similar role.
• Prior OEM or certified training on engines or compressors is an asset.
• Experience with screw and reciprocating compression is preferred.
• Ability to work in remote locations and travel for short durations (hotel or camp-based).
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract.
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
• Committed to safety, teamwork, and professionalism.
• Able to mentor junior team members and lead by example.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and adaptability.
