The principal role of the category coordinator is to assist and support the development and planning for the non-permanent promotional space within stores. This role is responsible for ensuring items selected for this space:
Are planned and executed in an efficient and timely manner in the stores (meeting identified parameters and seasonality)
Entered in the system accurately while respecting the timeline.
Shared with Cross-functional support teams. (Ensure they have accurate information needed to execute their portion of the process.)
Promptly compiling information and sharing to cross-functional support functions.
In addition, the role will be critical to ensuring rotation cadence is met and executed accurately (selected products are executed properly with the right equipment),
Your role:
Supports the item selection process and key measures of success in alignment with the endcaps and promotional spaces.
Ensure all essential execution parameters are completed such as product integrity, inventory projections and order completion.
Ensures all promotions are entered accurately and efficiently into the Promotional System.
Communicates the periodical and permanent Offshelf strategies with stores.
Assists in running quantitative financial metrics to determine the productivity of promotional space. Metrics will be Sales, Margin, Turn, GMROI and will support corporate budgets established by FP&A.
Monitors the sales results to make necessary adjustments such as retail prices based on competition, sell thru objectives and exit strategies.
Compiles Market Director, Merchant, and Store feedback to prepare for pre-event item selection and post event analysis to aid in item selection and future planning efforts. Communicates this reporting throughout the organization.
Develops store formats knowledge and maintains the store cluster lists in order to create planograms that respect the available space.
Participates in the correction process of the planograms making sure they represent the strategy.
Updates the data in the system and manages the changes in periodical off-shelf information.
Participates in the execution of the exit strategy of promotional products.
The candidate will be required to work cross functionally between Merchandising, Store Environment, Planogramming, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure all functions are executing their portion of the process.
Communicates final inventory strategy and presentation plans to Supply Chain and Planogramming to ensure accurate inventory is purchased for promotions.
Informs Planogram team of standard promotional space locations for Layout and Store Prototype placement.
What we're looking for:
4 years of post-secondary degree in business or logistics management is preferred.
Minimum of 2 years work experience as a buying assistant is required.
Computer literacy.
Ability to interface effectively with management at all levels of the organization.
Excellent time management/organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
In addition, Project Management skills, Knowledge of delivery channels and financial acumen are strongly recommended.
