The Opportunity:

This is a dynamic opportunity for a proactive IT Coordinator to play a key role in supporting and advancing the organization's technology environment. Reporting to the Manager, IT & Administration, this role will provide responsive day-to-day IT support, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. A strong focus on cybersecurity is essential. This is a hands-on and varied position that supports the organization's strategic goals through reliable and secure technology operations.

What You Will Do:

IT Support: Provide day-to-day technical support to staff, address and resolve a wide range of hardware, software, and connectivity issues to minimize operational disruptions; maintain, repair, and replace IT equipment and hardware as needed; install, configure, and test new technology solutions; ongoing administration and support of Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Microsoft 365 applications; manage routine data backup processes to ensure system integrity and business continuity; support audiovisual (AV) systems, VoIP telephony.

IT projects: Participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects aimed at enhancing system performance, security, and overall infrastructure resilience; support various upgrades and improvement efforts, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful implementation while minimizing disruption to operations.

IT security: promote cybersecurity best practices across the organization and foster a culture of security awareness and vigilance; support and deliver IT security awareness initiatives and staff training to enhance understanding of cyber threats and safe digital behavior; stay informed on current security trends, emerging threats, and industry best practices to help inform internal policies and procedures; review, analyze, and respond to reported phishing attempts and other suspicious activities, working closely with Manager, IT & Administration and IT providers to assess risks and implement appropriate responses.

Procurement and asset management: Coordinate the acquisition of IT-related products and services to support the organization's technology infrastructure; source hardware, software, licenses, and support services, evaluate vendor options, obtain competitive quotes in alignment with organizational needs and budgetary guidelines; assess technical requirements, ensure compatibility and maintain compliance with internal policies; oversee vendor relationships, track contract renewals; maintain detailed records of IT assets and procurement activities to support operational efficiency, cost control, and lifecycle management.

Additional Duties: Take on other duties as needed to support PDAC's business needs.

You Have:

• A diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent education, training, and experience.

• A minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role involving IT support or system administration.

• In-depth experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

• Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting cybersecurity programs.

• Knowledge of data backup, disaster recovery processes, and system integrity maintenance.

• Experience with AV systems and VoIP telephony support.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to adapt to and thrive in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities.

The PDAC office is located at 170 University Avenue, Suite 800, Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate will be required to attend the PDAC office 3 days/week and 2 days remotely.
