The Director of Information Systems & Technology is a key member of the leadership team responsible for shaping and executing the organization's technology strategy. Reporting to the Enterprise CFO, this role ensures that Stevens' technology infrastructure, business applications, cybersecurity protocols, and digital capabilities align with and support the company's strategic goals. The Director serves as a strategic partner across business units, enabling growth, innovation, and operational excellence through scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
• Provide strategic oversight and leadership to the IS/IT department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Define and execute a multi-year IS&T strategy aligned with Steven's operational, logistics, and digital transformation goals.
• Collaborate with regional and global leaders to identify business challenges and deliver innovative, data-driven technology solutions.
• Develop long-term roadmaps for infrastructure, applications, and cloud systems to support scaling needs and operational resilience.
• Lead strategic oversight of cybersecurity across WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi networks, virtual/physical servers, business applications, mobile devices, and data platforms.
• Monitor technology trends (e.g., AI/ML, robotics, automation) and evaluate emerging tools to drive innovation and automation within business processes.
Acquisition & Deployment
• Develop business cases for technology investments and ensure ROI through efficient project management and resource utilization.
• Lead the evaluation, acquisition, and implementation of enterprise platforms including ERP, WMS, MES, CRM, and business analytics tools.
• Oversee large-scale digital initiatives, system upgrades, and regional rollouts in collaboration with corporate tech and supply chain teams.
• Drive due diligence and systems integration planning for new facility launches, regional expansions, or acquisitions.
• Build strong partnerships with global and regional vendors, manage RFP processes, negotiate contracts, and optimize licensing models.
• Ensure seamless deployment of new technologies, integrating user requirements, system architecture, and data security protocols.
Operational Management
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the IS&T function including infrastructure, end-user services, cloud platforms, and application support.
• Ensure uptime, reliability, and performance across network systems, applications, and data environments supporting 24/7 operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across IT services using Lean, Agile, and DevOps methodologies.
• Lead cyber risk management, implementing enterprise security tools and compliance controls in line with Steven's global standards.
• Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard systems and minimize service disruptions.
• Develop and report on KPIs related to service delivery, IT health, project execution, and user satisfaction.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers, support specialists, and project managers across multiple sites.
Position Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree or MBA with a technology concentration preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CISSP, or AWS Cloud Architect are strong assets.
Knowledge & Experience
• Experience in high-volume, operationally intensive environments such as e-commerce, logistics, or manufacturing preferred.
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Linux, and major business applications (ERP, CRM, eCommerce).
• Proven track record implementing and managing cybersecurity frameworks and controls.
• In-depth understanding of privacy laws, regulatory requirements, and data protection principles.
• Extensive experience in IT infrastructure planning and enterprise systems integration.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, network protocols, and database platforms (including structured/unstructured data and Power BI).
• Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and related technologies.
