Software Licensing Specialist
Work Description. Must provide software technical support and license asset acquisition, management and control services. Focused on supporting integration by providing SW technical support, SW acquisition support, SW license hosting and deployment services;
Tasks
Provide assistance and troubleshooting as it relates to software license key distribution and activation;Track software license distribution and availability;Maintain accurate records of license assignment SW asset library), and periodically review/audit to ensure license distribution continues to meet operational needs;Coordinate with team on license requirements;Assist the project team with Requests for Change (RFC) submissions for the introduction of new SW versions. Monitor the RFC process to ensure timely approvals;Assist in developing plans for the rollout of new software (or updates to existing software);Track software license renewals and advise relevant procurement authorities to initiate renewals with sufficient time for the full procurement process to take place;Work with SW suppliers and distributors to obtain technical information on relevant applications. Obtain quotations from various suppliers in support of SW maintenance renewals or for the purchase of new licenses;Manage SW deliveries and work with the project team to install, test, and deploy to intended systems or Users;Maintain positive control over the library media hardware assets including, but not limited to, CDs, DVDs, sleeves, scrubber, disk burner, storage devices, USB replicators, laptops and desktops;Maintain backups of media; andPerform any work related to this category.
