Your New Role

As an Application Developer - Hybrid Cloud Manage, you will play a key role in a multi-year defense sector project. You'll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting complex applications, ensuring seamless integration and high reliability. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply modern architecture and development methodologies, and contribute to the delivery of secure, robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and support cloud and hybrid applications.
• Apply knowledge of application functionality, technical design, and integration with other systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure smooth application operations.
• Design, build, and test new capabilities in existing applications and systems.
• Lead small teams, guide junior members, and manage routine activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical solutions that meet business requirements.
• Apply event-driven, service-oriented, and microservice architectural patterns.
• Use development methodologies such as Test Driven Development.
• Document solutions clearly to support testing and future maintenance.
• Work with export-controlled technology in compliance with regulations.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Mandatory:

• Canadian Federal Government Security Clearance - Secret (we require the document or the file number upon application).
• Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency (dual/third nationality only from approved countries).
• Located in Ottawa, ON (onsite work required).
• Strong programming skills in C++, C, Java, Python, Objective-C, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, XML, Shell Scripting, Rust.
• Experience with architecture and design patterns (EDA, SOA, Microservices, Enterprise Integration Patterns).
• Experience with low-level programming, embedded systems, device drivers, and firmware development.
• User interface programming (JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, React, Node.js).
• Middleware development (API gateways, event brokers, service mesh).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet client timelines.
• Initiative, prioritization, and strong documentation skills.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the Defence Industry.

• Experience in vendor solution evaluation processes.
