Company Description : Taxpayer Law is one of Canada's top tax litigation and dispute resolution boutiques. We are looking for an exceptional Legal Assistant to join our team. We have an extensive track record of advising both business owners and individual clients on diverse and complex tax issues. Our mission is to provide strategic, high-quality representation and guidance in resolving tax controversies efficiently and effectively.

Role Overview : We are looking for a dynamic and versatile individual to join our team in a hybrid role that combines legal administrative support with videography. This is a great opportunity for someone with a creative eye and strong organizational skills who thrives in a flexible work environment.

Additional Details:

  • This is an Ottawa-based role, with in-person work required at our office located at 66 Slater Street
  • Schedule and hours are flexible depending on your availability and our needs (anywhere from 10 to 40 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general legal assistant support, including scheduling, document prep, and file organization
  • Assist with marketing and communication efforts, including content coordination and outreach.
  • Capture, edit, and produce high-quality video content for internal use and external communications
  • Support administrative needs around the office as required

Qualifications

  • Education : Diploma or Certificate in Legal Assistant, Paralegal Studies, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills : Experience with videography, including filming, editing, and post-production (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools). Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and general office software. Familiarity with Canadian legal procedures or administrative support in a legal setting is an asset. Comfort with coordinating content for internal or external communications.
  • Soft Skills : Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
